Hey all. Another new mix. This time I have 3 hours of what I am calling “British Underground Folk”. This covers a lot of sonic ground, so things like psych folk, traditional folk and some progressive rock sort of fit into this arrangement I have been listening to this stuff since I can remember and i always find it a comforting listen. This is by no means comprehensive in any way. I really tried to mix this based on “vibe” for lack of a better word. There are some artists that I left off that I truly love but that didn’t fit. Comus, The Trees & Mellow Candle come to mind
Looking forward to this. I’d also highly recommend the follow up to Dust on the Nettles, Sumer Is Icumen In: The Pagan Sound of British & Irish Folk 1966-1975. My starting point for this music, way back when, was the late lamented website The Unbroken Circle, whose series of very unofficial CDrs, Lammas Night Laments, was a real eye opener.
