One of the great things about zikzak is that it gives me the opportunity to ask people who's taste I really respect for recommendations. Jack Rollo is one of those people. Serious music sleuths will know him from the radio show "Time Is Away" on NTS, where he partners with Elaine Tierney to produce one of the must listen hours of radio. They produced a fantastic album entitled "Ballads" that came out this year on A Colourful Storm.
I’m liking these posts and checking out lots of new (to me) music. I do think it’s a shame your guests haven’t taken the opportunity to say a word or two about what they’ve chosen, but excellent work in getting the lists in the first place!
They might if I asked them. Typically I try to make it short and sweet because it's favor to me and most of these people are pretty busy. Having the links I hope sets it apart from the standard list
Oh definitely, and I’m not knocking it in the slightest - I’m enjoying hearing lots of new sounds and I’m grateful for that. I guess it’s more of a reflection of how my mind works and my curiosity about why record x ended up on person y’s list. It could be suggested that I’m being nosy 😁
