Oddly enough this particular H.N.A.S album never made it to Mutant Sounds but many did. You can check the listings there. If you see something you are interested in reach out as i may have it.
HIRSCHE NICHT AUFS SOFA were (are?) a fantastic outfit that Wikepedia describes as follows:
Hirsche nicht aufs Sofa (HNAS for short) was an avant-garde band that released a series of surrealist and dadaist recordings from 1983 to 1993. Members were Achim P. Li Khan and Christoph Heemann . Because of their willingness to experiment and their energy, the band is often compared to Nurse With Wound . HNAS is characterized by a bizarre sense of humor, which is particularly clearly reflected in the names of tracks and albums ( Steam from a disco nozzle , Mother, I don't understand anything about art , Petrus came from Berchtesgaden , Tons of weight in an evening dress , Good Lord! The urge is getting stronger, etc.). HNAS released music under their own label Dom, which was later expanded to include the sub-labels Dom Elchklang, Dom Bartwuchs and Dom America (the latter run by the band's friend Jon Carlson).
In 1993, Heemann and P. Li Khan parted ways, with Khan turning to projects such as Brigitte And The Hansen Experience, Damenbart, Korea Soundblaster, Dieter Bauknecht and Rowenta/Khan (with Frank Rowenta ). Heemann produced numerous recordings solo and with the groups Mimir (with Jim O'Rourke , Andreas Martin and Edward Ka-Spel from The Legendary Pink Dots [ 1 ] ), Mirror (with Andrew Chalk) and In Camera (with Timo Van Luijk), and became known primarily through his production work for artists such as Charlemagne Palestine , Tony Conrad , Keiji Haino , Limpe Fuchs and his collaboration with Nurse With Wound and Current 93. The Dom label was split into Dom Elchklang (Khan) and the label Streamline (Heemann), which continued Dom Bartwuchs.
As you might imagine, a lot of their works are pretty out there. This one however, is not. Its much more musical than anything i have heard from them and i have heard a lot. I purchased this when it came out in the 80’s
hope you dig it. check it here
This was my starting point for H.N.A.S., which I picked up after hearing them compared to Faust. It does start to go further outside by the end of the second half but yeah, it still retains some sense of structure. Anyway, great choice. I still love H.N.A.S. and despite Heemann's claim that their earlier work was better, I tend to prefer their last two records. Thanks for the revisit!
